Johnny Triesch considers the industry’s future… “More focus on the importance of the scrap industry's global carbon footprint is imminent. How can emerging technologies further reduce our carbon footprint and how can we as leaders in the industry make this happen?”
The green revolution is catching on as scientists and activists motivate and educate the general public. The scrap industry has always been "green" and now it is our mission to also spread the word and educate the public as to what the industry does to contribute to a world wide green culture. Longhorn Recycling is a committed partner in this quest. By providing a customer friendly atmosphere and convenient location, Longhorn Recycling always strives to get their customers competitive prices and first rate service. As environmentally conscience consumers it is good to know that the recycling business simultaneously provides consumers with a myriad of savings and makes the community a greener place to live. First and foremost our communities are saving money when the recycling industry keeps our landfills free of metals, cardboard paper, and electronic waste. Then the savings are again passed on to the consumer when they purchase products made from recycled materials. The recycling industry also creates a virtuous circle in the global economy providing jobs and capital in countries all around the world. Here at Longhorn Recycling we are providing opportunities for community involvement as well as opportunities for community leaders to voice their suggestions for making San Antonio a cleaner and greener place to live. Longhorn Recycling has joined forces with SeaWorld, H-E-B, and San Antonio Express News to bring a program called The Recycle Challenge to the local school systems.
